Lord, thank you for your mercy 

which is fresh and new every morning...

Forgive us for our shortcomings

and help us to have a fresh start,

renewed strength, a clean heart.

May we be 1% better today

than yesterday

until we become 

what you want us to be. Amen.

Lord, you are the resurrection and the life,

whoever believes in you 

will live and not die...

In the moments when death comes 

into our lives and takes loved ones away,

you are our comfort and strength.

Knowing that you are our salvation,

our hope for eternal life,

takes away the sting of death.

Still, the moments come when we grieve.

During those moments, please hold us.

Be with us. Cry with us.

And allow more moments of consolation 

to interweave with the moments of grief.

This we ask in Jesus' name. Amen.

Father, you are our healer.

Thank you for the gift 

of mangoes and friendship

to recall times past

when heartbreak was soothed

by their sweetness 

and a promise that, 

just as it had been before,

healing will come in your time

and your grace.

There is an appointed time for everything, 

and a time for every affair under the heavens.

Lord, grant us the grace of honesty

to admit before you the desire of our heart.

If this desire is not in accordance with your will, 

grant us the grace of indifference

to let go of what we ought to...

But if your will allows us to choose this heart's desire,

grant us the courage to be honest 

even in the face of people's disapproval

or the cutting disappointment of loved ones.

Help us to decide wisely, 

either to hold on tightly 

or to set our heart's desire free.

May your peace suffuse our hearts

to tell us we have made the right choice.

This we ask in Jesus' name. Amen.

Thank you, Lord, for all the people who 

expressed their love, friendship and affection

with a gift of a bracelet.

The *sunsets* declare the glory of God;

The sky proclaims its builder's craft. 

One day to the next conveys that message;

one night to the next imparts that knowledge. 

There is no word or sound;

Lord, thank you for infusing our life 

with your light. 

When night time comes, 

allow the memory of your light

to still our souls like a weaned child

on its mother's lap,

confident that sunrise will come again;

confident that your presence is there,

even behind cloudy skies and rainy weather.

Have mercy on us when we tremble in the dark.

Help us to remember:

You are king over all the earth.

You are king over our lives.

You are in charge. 

There is nothing to fear.

You are the king of mercy. 

We trust in you.
